Consideraciones en torno a las nociones de emigración / inmigración y emigrante / inmigrante

    Este trabajo intenta un análisis de la familia de términos relacionados con la raíz latina MIGRARE. La primera parte se dedica al comentario de los étimos respectivos. En la segunda, la autora trata de establecer la cronología e historia semántica de dichos vocablos. Para ello examina las definiciones que presentan las distintas ediciones del Diccionario de la Real Academia Española, haciendo notar algunas incoherencias observadas. Por último, analiza brevemente los matices semánticos que parecen diferenciar a los miembros de esta familia léxica.

    The inexistence of a would-be homonymy between a ¿begging cunning¿ guitón (vagabond) and a guitón that is actually a gitón, a ¿token for counting¿, and the origin and the evolution of the mistake are painstakingly traced, from Covarrubias via Autoridades and so on through successive editions of the academic dictionary. This having been cleared up, the biography of both Gallicisms is traced: gitón or getón < Fr. jeton; guitón < Fr. ant. guiton, and some of the words related to the latter are also addressed. Finally, and to avoid confusion, other forms and words are considered which this time are actually homonyms or paronyms of either words: an ancient guitón, which is a variant of guión (¿standard¿) (also known as guidón), a gitón which is the lexicalisation of a name of a character from Petronius, the learned Hellenism xitón, jitón or quitón ¿tunic¿, etc.
