    David Piñera Ramírez resume las etapas históricas de la frontera norte y destaca que ésta ha tenido una especial relevancia en los episodios más trascendentes del país ya que los conflictos que inician en el centro del territorio son atraídos hacia ella constantemente. Según el autor, la historiografía ha ignorado el papel histórico de la frontera norte y, por ello, es vital estudiarla, pues representa una posibilidad de renovación nacional tanto por su geopolítica como por las relaciones sociales que se dan en ella.

    David Piñera Ramírez resumes the historical stages in the northern border and the importance they had in the most transcendental events in the country as the conflicts initiating in the center were attracted to the north constantly. The author thinks the historiography has ignored the historical role the north has played, and for this reason it should be studied as it represents a national renovation possibility for its geopoliticy as well as for the social relationships in it.
