Resumen de Rovira i Virgili o l'etern retorn: L'Estat Catalá. Estudi de Dret Públic

En els darrers anys de la seva vida, ja exiliat a França, el politic i periodista Antoni Rovira i Virgili redactà un assaig a partir d'estudis i reflexions propies sobre la configuració historica i institucional de la nació catalana, dins la qual hi englobava el Principat, el País Valencià i les illes Balears �" tres regions d'una sola nació"�. Rovira i Virgili pretenia fornir els exiliats amb prou material teòric per a fonamentar i legitimar la reivindicació d'un Estat català i ajudar a difondre la causa deis catalans a nivell internacional; aquest assaig, pero, no va ser publicat, tot i haver estat premiat als Jocs Florais de Londres. L'autor d'aquest article analitza i comenta aquesta obra inèdita, tot seguint el fil argumentai, les formulacions ideologiques que Rovira i Virgili havia anat madurant i expressant al llarg de la seva vida en diversos escrits i les allusions que ell mateix va fer del seu treball en la correspondència amb altres personatges de l'exili.

Towards the end of his life, in exile in France, the politician and journalist Antoni Rovira i Virgili wrote an essay based on his own studies and thoughts on the historical and institutional configuration of the Catalan nation, in which he encompassed the Principality, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands �"three regions of a single nation"� . Rovira i Virgili sought to furnish exiles with sufficient theoretical material to provide the foundations and legitimacy to claim a Catalan state, and to help disseminate the Catalan cause abroad. However, but this essay was never published, although it received an award at the London Literature Awards. The author of this article analyses and comments on this unpublished work, following its line of argument, the ideological formulations that Rovira i Virgili had gradually formed and expressed in the course of his life in different texts, and the allusions he made to his own work in his correspondence with other exiles.
