Situada en la vía Ostiense de Roma, la Central Montemartini constituye un extraordinario ejemplo de reconversión de un edificio industrial en museo. El primer establecimiento público para la producción de energía eléctrica de la ciudad es hoy el segundo polo expositivo de los Museos Capitolinos. La Central Montemartini alberga un considerable número de esculturas de la Antigüedad clásica halladas durante las excavaciones realizadas en Roma entre finales del siglo XIX y las primeras décadas del siglo XX.

Situated on Via Ostiense of Rome, the Montemartini Power Plant is an extraordinary example of an industrial building transformed into an exhibition space. It was originally the first public electricity plant in Rome, named after Giovanni Montemartini; now it is the second exhibition centre of the Capitoline Museums, and contains an outstanding collection of classical sculpture from the excavations carried out in Rome at the end of the nineteenth century and during the first decades of the twentieth.
