Resumen de Consideraciones referentes a la lógica mercantilista en las bibliotecas públicas.: un alegato contra el AGCS y sus implicaciones

  La actual sociedad neoliberal lleva consigo un intento paulatino por comercializar con los servicios gratuitos prestados en las bibliotecas públicas. Un estudio conceptual e histórico de la función social de estas instituciones culturales y educativas, nos lleva a concluir que la lógica mercantilista no puede tener cabida en las bibliotecas, ya que se vería afectado la transmisión de la información y el conocimiento, el avance científico-intelectual y la creación en el ciudadano de una opinión y un criterio propio, además de violar varios derechos del hombre.

  The current neoliberal society takes with it a gradual attempt for commercializing with the free services given in the public libraries. A conceptual and historical study of the social function of these cultural and educational institutions, it leads us to concluding that the logic mercantilist cannot have content in the libraries, since there would meet affected the transmission of the information and the knowledge, the scientific - intellectual advance and the creation in the citizen of an opinion and an own criterion, beside violating several rights of the man.
