  • The syncronic and diachronic facets of the notion of style in art history, when dovetailed, convert the descriptive concept into a dynamic historical force. Seductive in Heinrich Wölffin's work, the amalgamation, as Riegl's Late Roman Art Industry exemplifies, is nonetheless a fallacy.
