    Since 1981, four radial HST systems have been built in France, from Paris to the South-East, then the West and the South-West, the North and the East of the country. Gradually, they deviated from the initial principle of the "plane on wheels " connecting main metropolises without intermediate stops, and the "Ile-de- France interconnection " has merged these radial systems into a national network. A new "network effect" can be seen, wherein the new stations built along the new lines take part quite diversely.

    Depuis 1981, quatre systèmes TGV radiaux ont été réalisés en France, de Paris vers le Sud-Est, puis l'Ouest et le Sud-Ouest, le Nord et l 'Est du pays. Ils ont progressivement dérogé au principe initial de «l'avion sur rail» reliant sans arrêts intermédiaires de grandes métropoles, et la réalisation de l'interconnection Ile-de-France a conduit à la mise en place d'un véritable réseau national. Un nouvel «effet réseau» s'observe, auquel contribuent diversement les nouvelles gares réalisées sur les lignes nouvelles.
