A LONG WAY UNTIL A THEORY UNIFIED FOR ECOLOGY. The scientists continuously search the generalization of its findings and theories that unify particular theoretical models. In this paper I search to present of more didactic form some aspects of the neutral theory of the biodiversity of Hubbell (2001) with emphasis in an analysis if it�s estimated and a discussion of its paper on our vision on the structural of biological communities. Based in this, I argue a list of interesting subjects for research that emerge of the discussion of this type of theory.

Os cientistas buscam continuamente a generalização de seus achados e teorias que unifiquem modelos teóricos particulares. Nesse texto busco apresentar de forma mais didática alguns aspectos da teoria neutra da biodiversidade de Hubbell (2001) com ênfase em uma análise de seus pressupostos e uma discussão de seu papel sobre a nossa visão sobre a estruturação de comunidades biológicas. Com base nisso, discuto uma agenda de temas interessantes para pesquisa que emergem da discussão desse tipo de teoria.
