Resumen de ¿Una asignatura sistémica o sistemática?

El paradigma de la complejidad, la visión sistémica del mundo, es el referente teórico más adecuado para el estudio del medio ambiente. La introducción en el sistema educativo de una asignatura dedicada a éste, debería ser una gran oportunidad para extender esta nueva visión científica del mundo. Sin embargo, existen numerosas dificultades, que van desde la tradición científica en la que está formado el profesorado, hasta las formas de pensamiento propias de los estudiantes. En la situación actual, el enfoque sistémico en lugar de ser el eje vertebrador de la asignatura, puede quedar relegado a un contenido más de ésta. Afortunadamente existen herramientas que, de ser utilizadas, podrían transformar la enseñanza, ayudando a profesores y alumnos a ver el mundo de manera más compleja.

The paradigm of complexity, i.e. the systemic view of the world, is the most adecuate theoretical reference to study the environment. The recent introduction of a new subject dealing with this theme into the Educational System, should provide a great opportunity to spread this new scientific view of the world. Notwithstanding this, there exist many obstacles which may prevent it, from the scientific formation of teachers, to the different ways of thinking which are typical of the students. In the present situation, the systemic approach may be relegated to a mere content of the subject, instead of constituting its central axis.
Fortunately, there exist strategies which, being properly used, could transform the practice of teaching, helping teachers and students to regard the world in a more complex way.
