Resumen de De la selección vegetal a la biotecnología: Economía del Germoplasma

Guido Cataife

  • This paper studies the transformation on the techniques in the agricultural subsystem of production and its consequences on the productive relationships. For that purposes, it separates analytically the history of agriculture in three periods. In the first one, the husbandman works for his own consumption with means made by himself. The second one is the commodity form of production in which the farmer produces for the consumption of others with the productive means that he bought in the market. The last one is, as the second, a commodity form of production, but this time, it conveys new forms of relations between the commodity producers, as a consequence of the implementation of new technologies, specially biotechnology.
