  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the effect of a road crash on the healthrelated quality of life of injured people. A new approach based on the cardinalization of different categorical measures of ill-health, such as TTO and VAS indexes, is suggested and used for assessing the robustness of the results. The methodology is based on the existing literature about treatment effects. Our main contribution focuses on evaluating the chronic loss oh health, that would allow to properly estimate the health losses in quality-of-life terms.
