L'oxetivu d'esti estudiu ye esplicar que, anque la mayor parte de los paradigmes astures pal pretéritu y tiempos averaos paecen coincidir colos paradigmes gallegu y castellanu, un análisis más rigurosu amuesa que la identidá de les formes coles de les otres llingües vecines nun ye total y que son precisamente estes formes del verbu les que nos ufierten importantes pistes sobre'! so desarrollu diacrónicu. Deféndese la postura de que cuasi toles variedaes astures, anque amuesen güei formes abondo diferentes, tuvieron un desendolque morfolóxicu asemeyáu y tamién, dientro del continuum dialectal, distintu de les llingües vecines.

The goal of this article is to explain that, even though most of the astur paradigms for the past tense and similar tenses seem to coincide with the galician and castilian ones, a more rigourous analysis shows that these forms are not completely identical to those found in neighbouring languages and it is precisely those forms wich offer important clues about their diachronic development. It is posited that nearly alt the astur varieties -even if they nowadays show noticeably different forms- had a similar morphological development and also, within the dialectal continuum, slightly different from the neighbouring languages.
