The rediscovery of Mendels laws in 1900 was an important landmark in the History of Genétics. Thus, this Science is 100 the present year 2000.In this work, the historical, conceptual and methodological evolution of Genetics is reviewed. Genetics is defined as the science who studies the hereditary material under any level (molecular, cellular, individual, population) or aspect. The formal contents of Genetics are questions and answers in relation to the genes: What are they? How are they organized and transmitted? How and when are they expressed? How do they change? Which is their spacial and temporal fate? In the chronological development of Genetics, the last decade (1990-2000) is specially characterized by the progress of Genomics and Transgenesis. In the present review some aspects of the most important advances both of Genomics and transgenic animals and plants are analyzed.
