  • Resumen
    • Bulgarian viticulture is an export-oriented branch of Bulgarian agriculture. In 2003 the surface covered with vines was 130,000 ha. The European Union decided to grant a quota of 154,000 ha for vines to Bulgaria when the country becomes a full member of the EU. The following indicators have been estimated for determining the specialization of vine-growing in regions and districts: structure and amount of commodity production in vine-growing, vineyards area compared to cultivable land and perennial plants area; the average amount of cultivable vineyards in a farm.
