    La certifi cación ambiental es un proceso con ámbitos específi cos que apunta a la gestión ambiental de los establecimientos educacionales, buscando elevar la responsabilidad y conciencia de los diversos agentes que la conforman; en tanto la ISO 14001 es un procedimiento normativo altamente recomendable para cualquier institución que quiera mejorar su efi ciencia ambiental. El artículo se guía bajo criterio ISO con el fi n de complementar y optimizar los procesos defi nidos por el SNCAE para los establecimientos escolares que buscan la certifi cación ambiental.

    The environmental certifi cation is a process with specifi c scopes that aims at the environmental management of the educational institutions, searching for an enhancement on the responsibility and conscience of the various parties involved; meanwhile, the ISO 14001 is a highly recommended procedure for any institution that wants to improve its environmental policy effi ciency. The article is guided under the ISO criterion so as to append and optimize the processes defi ned by the SNCAE for the educational institutions in search of the environmental certifi cation.
