    En torno a los años 1990, un grupo de investigadores intentamos reanudar y potenciar el estudio sobre el Patrimonio Arqueológico e Histórico del antiguo asentamiento púnico de Rusaddir (Melilla). Iniciamos excavaciones arqueológicas y promovimos la investigación sobre el poblamiento en los antiguos recintos fortificados de "Melilla la Vieja", siempre ayudados y apoyados por el Gobierno de la Ciudad Autónoma a través de su Consejería de Cultura. Incluso logramos, que investigadores de otras Instituciones y Universidades se interesaran e implicaran en nuestro trabajo que con el tiempo fue dando magníficos resuItados.

    In the 1990's a group of investigators attempted to restart and promote research on the Archaeological and Historie Heritage of the ancient Punic settlement of Russadir (Melilla). We started archaeological excavations and promoted the investigation on the settlement of the ancient fortified site in "Melilla La Vieja", with constant support and backed by the Government of the Autonomous City through its Cultural Ministry. We even achieved that investigators from other Institutions and Universities became interested and got involved in our work that over time produced magnificent results.
