Resumen de Randall Collins y la dimensión ritual de la filosofía

El presente artículo estudia y discute la aplicación que realiza Randall Collins en Sociología de las filosofías de la noción de ritual. En primer lugar, defiende su pertinencia porque ayuda a intensificar uno de los rasgos distintivos de la buena filosofía: la reflexividad. En segundo lugar, precisa y critica el uso que realiza Randall Collins de la relación entre contexto y estructura. En tercer lugar, propone desarrollar alguno de los útiles de la teoría de Erving Goffman que Collins oblitera, señaladamente el de reglas ceremoniales. Por fin, culmina analizando las relaciones entre creación, enfermedad mental y rituales del yo y señalando cómo la noción de ritual ayuda a comprender ciertas dimensiones de la vida intelectual.

This paper studies and discusses Randal Collins' use of the notion of ritual in his book Sociology of Philosophies. Firstly, I defend the pertinence of this use as it contributes to intensifying a distinctive feature of philosophy: reflexivity. Secondly, I specify and criticize Randal Collins' use of the relation between context and structure. Thirdly, I propose to develop some tools of Erving Goffman's theory that Collins obliterates specifically the notion of ceremonial rules. Finally, I conclude analyzing the relations between creation, mental illness and self rituals, emphasizing on how the notion of ritual helps to understand some dimensions of intellectual life.
