In ancient Egyptian metals were mined in several areas, and also imported by trade or as a tribute from neighbouring countries. The wall paintings, reliefs and hieroglyphic inscriptions in Egyptian private tombs show to us several kind of metal: copper, gold, silver, bronze. Anyway we can see the work of the smiths or metalworkers, the techniques of melting with one or more crucibles, depending on the amount required, and blowpipes or bellows, casting, with different kind of moulds and finally plate production and funerary equipment and other items.
