    Archeological data from the lowest levels at Susa may shed light on some aspects of the village-to-city transition, from the egalitarian societies of Neolithic times to the rust urban organizations in southern Irak and south-western Iran, in particular with respect to the formation of primitive religion. The construction of a "high platform" at Susa, around 4 000 B.C.E., is an important landmark on the way from natural religiosity towards dynamic, interactive forms of belief and religious practices.

    Les données fournies par les niveaux les plus profonds de Suse peu vent éclairer queques aspects de la transition des villages vers les villes, des sociétés égalitaires du Néolithique vers les premiéres organisations urbaines, dans le sud de l'Irak et le sud-ouest de l'lran, notamment en ce qui concerne la formation de la religion primitive.
