  • This paper gives a short history of gas and its links to the city of Barcelona, and also of the company, now known as Gas Natural SDG, which has made Barcelona a pioneering city in this sector in Spain. The company�s activities in the electricity sector in the city are also covered, and its contributions to its historical and architectural heritage, not forgetting the social implications of its activities. It concludes with some reflections on other works related to the history of the gas industry in Spain.
