    J. L. Godard se hace presente como personaje en Prénom: Carmen (1983), no sólo como homenaje a sí mismo y/o al cine, sus géneros, sus textos, sus actores, etc., sino también para plasmar la huella de su versión, la adaptación del tan transitado mito de la femme fatale, moderna y godardiana. La recurrencia a la intertextualidad y a la metaficción representa el único medio posible para Godard de hacer y de pensar el lenguaje del cine y del arte en todo su esplendor, más allá de prejuicios de adaptación

Godard appears as a character in Prénom: Carmen (1983), not only as a homage to himself and/or to the cinema, to genres, to texts, to actors, etc., but also to leave his mark on his version, that is, the adaptation of the well-known myth of the modern and godardian femme fatale. Godard uses the recurrence to intertextuality and to metafiction as the only possible instruments to make and to think about the language of cinema and about art in all their splendour.
