  Este avance de investigación estudia la relación existente entre la responsabilidad social y la formación gerencial del personal docente en las universidades nacionales. El área temática a estudiar es el de la Responsabilidad Social y la Formación Gerencial, enmarcada en las ciencias gerenciales. Los preceptos teóricos se respaldan con Certo (2004), Koontz y Weirich (2004), Gómez, Balkin y Cardyn (2003), Ministerio de Educación Superior (2002), entre otros. El estudio forma parte de la línea de investigación de la responsabilidad social en las organizaciones adscritas al Centro de Investigaciones de Ciencias Administrativas y Gerenciales de la URBE. Este estudio descriptivo caracterizó la situación de la responsabilidad social y formación gerencial en las universidades nacionales ubicadas en el municipio Cabimas, tal y como se presentan en la realidad organizacional. Se reflexiona sobre la urgente necesidad de planificar y ejecutar políticas gerenciales para que el personal docente de las universidades nacionales disponga de más herramientas que proyecten a la institución como generadora de bienestar a través de la responsabilidad social que responda a las necesidades del entorno.

  This research preview studies the existing relationship between the social responsibility and the management formation of the teaching staff in the national universities. The thematic area to study is the one related with the Social Responsibility and the Management Formation, framed in management sciences. The theoretical rules are backed up with Certo (2004), Koontz and Weirich (2004), Go'mez, Balkin and Cardyn (2003), Ministry of Higher Education (2002), among others. The study is part of the research line of the social responsibility in the organizations assigned to the Research centre of Administrative and Management Sciences of the URBE. This descriptive study characterized the situation of the social responsibility and management formation in the national universities located in the Cabimas municipality, so as they appear in the organizational reality. It is reflected on the urgent necessity to plan and to execute management policies to which the teaching staff of the national universities has more tools so as to project the institution as well-being generator through the social responsibility that responds to the necessities of the surroundings.
