Biotechnologies are one of the main keys to explain the entrance into the new century. From the discovery of DNA structure at 1953 and the birth of genetic engineering, the capacity of human beings to modify the natural course of biological evolution was a real possibility. But schools and school systems are arriving late to meet these important issues. The present work examines and gives evidences of this lack of introduction of modern biotechnologies into curricula, educational materials and school activities.
