Resumen de Estudio del impacto socioeconómico de la infraestructura de datos espaciales de Catalunya

  El Centro de Política de Suelo y Valoraciones (CPSV) de la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC) realiza durante el año 2007 un estudio, encargado por el Joint Research Centre (JRC) de la Comisión Europea, para valorar el impacto socioeconómico que la Infraestructura de Datos Espaciales de Cataluña (IDEC) ha producido en la sociedad catalana desde sus inicios y hasta el momento. Mediante la elaboración de un listado con los impactos y los indicadores a tener en cuenta y como estos pueden ser valorados, consensuado previamente con un grupo de expertos, se realizan entrevistas personalizadas a la muestra de estudio. Los resultados de estas encuestas son analizados mediante software estadístico, ofreciendo como principales conclusiones: la gran capacidad de ahorro económico que ha producido el establecimiento de la iniciativa IDEC respecto a las administraciones locales que utilizan sus recursos; y el beneficio respecto a la comunicación entre administraciones y ciudadanos mediante la utilización de Tecnologías de la Información Geográfica (TIG).

  During 2007 the Centre of Land Policy and Valuations (CPSV) of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) carried out a study under consultation for the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. The object of the study was to evaluate the socioeconomic impact produced by Catalonian Spatial Data Infrastructure on the Catalan society from its beginnings up until the present moment. Through the elaboration of a list of the principal impacts and indicators to be taken into consideration, deriving from the previous agreement by a group of experts, a series of personal interviews were carried out over a sample of the topics. The results of these interviews were analysed by means of a statistical software package, offering the following principal conclusions: the huge economic savings for the local administrations making use of the IDEC resources, from the moment of the setting up of the initiative; and the benefits with regard to the communication between the local administrations and the citizens through the use of geographical information technologies (GIT).
