  • Resumen
    • The present article analyzes the two-dimensional antiplane fracture problem for the interface in a semicircular cylindrical guide rail consisting of a wear-proof layer and an elastic substrate. Fracture analysis is performed by the methods of infinite series and singular integral equation. The effects of interface end, structural thickness, and stiffness ratio are discussed. In contrast with internal cracking, the end fracture is specially considered, yielding the way to reduce the stress intensity factor of an interface-end crack. These theoretical results may provide references for antifracture optimal designs of guide rails in structures and machines such as telescopic arms of cranes.
