Resumen de Les modèles d'horloge interne en psychologie du temps

Sylvie Droit-Volet, John Wearden

  • The aim of this theoretical review is to present and discuss models in psychology that support the idea of an internal clock as a basic mechanism involved in temporal judgments. Therefore, first we present the most popular theory conceiving an internal clock as a mechanism composed of a pacemaker and an accumulator. Second, we describe a more elaborated theory about the processing of time information, i.e., scalar timing theory. Finally, we present two others theories, one that proposes behavioral states, and the other a neural oscillatory system as the basis of time judgments.
