    El objetivo del presente artículo es exponer el análisis del sopor-te material de un conjunto documental denominado como Legajo Chimaltecuhtli-Casco. En este corpus, se recogen una serie de do-cumentos (pleitos, testamentos y ventas de tierras, además de varias pinturas o códices mesoamericanos) procedentes de la región de Cholula (México) y correspondientes a los siglos XVI y XVII. La mayor peculiaridad que presenta es que se encuentra en manos de un coleccionista privado, fuera de un contexto archivístico. Por ello, se hacia necesaria una labor que condujese a su autenticación y data-ción, más allá de un simple estudio de contenido. Para llevarla a ca-bo se recurrió a diversas ciencias. En el caso de lo aquí expuesto, fundamentalmente se recurrió a la Codicología que presta especial énfasis al estudio del soporte material que recibe la escritura. Con el análisis de diversos elementos relativos a este, como las filigranas, el papel sellado y la organización de los cuadernillos, se logró avanzar un paso más hacia la definitiva autenticación de este conjunto docu-mental.

    The aim of this paper is present the analysis of the material sup-port of a documentary series called Legajo Chimaltecuhtli-Casco. In this corpus, sets out a series of documents (lawsuits, wills and land sales, as well as several paintings or Mesoamerican codices) from the region of Cholula (Mexico) and for the 16th and 17th centuries. The greatest peculiarity is that it presents is in the hands of a private collector, outside an archival context. It is therefore necessary to work leading to its authentication and dating, beyond a mere study of content. To carry out will be resorted to various sciences. In the case of the above, was used primarily the Codicology that gives special emphasis to the study of the material it receives the deed. With the analysis of various elements relating to this, such as watermarks, pa-per sealed and the organization of the booklets, we were able to go one more step towards the definitive authentication of this whole documentary.
