  • Resumen
    • The temporal orientation process was investigated. Subjects (N 978) were asked about the last, present or next day of the month and month of the year. Then, subjects reported « how » they found their answers. Data collection occurred over two months fin the beginning, the middle or the end of the month) .

Firstly, we note that performances (response-time, error rate and place of errors on the time axis) differ between the two scales. Secondly, performances and temporal characteristics of the answer justifications change with the moment of data collection. Thirdly, this effect is differenciated as a function of the given scale.

Results, discussed in relation to standard findings about the week (for a review, see Friedman, 1990), are interpreted in terms of temporal frames. Temporal orientation may depend on several temporal frames constructed by humans from conventional and experienced time.
