    El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo fundamental presentar un modelo de evaluación del desempeño docente, brindando simultáneamente una metodología acerca de cómo se debe armar y planificar el desarrollo de la actividad en la formación de grado. El concepto actual está basado en que la calidad se realiza durante la elaboración del producto y no en controlar solamente al final el resultado. Por tal motivo la evaluación del desempeño docente debe ser el control de gestión del desarrollo, fruto de una política establecida. Este es el camino lógico a recorrer para llegar a la excelencia. De acuerdo a lo expuesto y atento a los vertiginosos cambios que se van dando se hace fundamental la implementación de polí- ticas que tengan como objetivo adaptar el desarrollo de la actividad acorde a los requerimientos que se pide a los profesionales de grado. Existen muchas propuestas o modelos. En la presente propuesta se trata de hacer un compendio de ellas y delimitar el modelo de política que debería ponerse en marcha, donde se tiene presente tanto el diseño curricular como la planificación de gestión docente, con su control de gesti ón para introducir los cambios que se requieran, contemplando lo que desde la sociedad se requiere.

    The presentation of an evaluation model for teaching performance is the main purpose of this paper. It will also provide a methodology for the setting up and planning of the development of the teaching activity, at undergraduate level. Currently, the prevailing concept is based on the idea that quality should be taken into account throughout the elaboration of the product, rather than being evaluated only by the final result. That is the reason why the evaluation of teaching performance should consist in the control of the management of the process, in accordance with pre- established policies. This is the logical road, leading to excellence. If one keeps in mind what has been stated and takes into account the accelerated changes currently taking place, the implementation of policies tending to adjust the developing activities to the qualifications required for the undergraduates, should be the goal, There are many models and proposals.

    This paper tries to summarize them and give shape to the model of policy that should be implemented.

    Such model includes both the curricular design and the planning of teaching management, with a management control capable of allowing the changes required, changes that should correspond to the demands of society.
