The author sees Land Surveys as having been a mainstay for the understanding of Territory throughout History and almost everywhere. This attention to the fact, be it for its strictly geographic or then again for its legal connotations, has ever justifi ed the existence as part of government of such surveying as a system within its own terms grounded, at the last call, upon the land lot proper. The present day Electronic H.Q. of the Catastro (Spanish Ordinance Survey) offers a technological platform upon which thousands interact each day. Serving thus it satisfi es what was required of it by Law 11/2007 as a tool for the electronic administering of the Survey while at the same time being a window for accessing and giving further use to its data base on the part of the citizen and business.
