Este artículo de investigación histórica presenta al lector un estudio detallado de los principales hechos y personajes de la historia jurídica costarricense, que propiciaron la creación del Colegio de Abogados de Costa Rica en 1881, así como una serie de biografías acerca de cada uno de los diez ilustres integrantes que conformaron su primera Junta Directiva.
Juristas quienes se desempeñaron en los más destacados y signifi cativos cargos públicos de nuestra nación, a fi - nales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, contribuyendo con sus distinguidos desempeños, en la construcción de la nación costarricense.

The main objective of this article of history research, is to show a deep study of the main facts and characters of the Costa Rican juridical history, who encourage the creation in 1881 of the Costa Rican Law School. On the other hand it gives a biography of each one, of the distinguished men that were members of their fi rst main board.
Lawyers that perform the most signifi cant and relevant public charges of our nation, at the end of the XIX century and in the very early XX, helping with their marvelous labor, to the arise of the our nation.
