  • Resumen
    • Performance measurement for just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing environments has received attention in recent years. Literature review shows that there is no mechanism so far to identify key JIT drivers and their impact on enterprise performance. This study describes the development of a generic performance measurement model to identify and capture the influence of JIT practices on system performance highlighting the link between JIT drivers (Xi) and measurable performance (Y). The model developed was subsequently validated by applying it to the production process of a global automotive component anufacturer using a novel eight step implementation procedure. In conclusion, it was established that the performance measurement model could be suitably applied to JIT plants using relevant organization specific JIT drivers to optimize system performance.
