  • Resumen
    • In the particular context of innovation, knowledge plays an ambiguous role. On one hand, it is the ferment of any idea generation, which is the starting step of the innovation process. Within this role, knowledge must be new, unstable, explorative, in order to permit creativity and variety. On the other hand, it is the cement of reliable product or process development, which is the ending step of the innovation process. To play this role, knowledge must be proved, standardized, exploitative, in order to guarantee efficiency and stability in these costly and complex operational phases. We analyze both roles by considering the whole innovation process and the place of knowledge creation and evolution all along this process.
