  • Resumen
    • Management of supply chains has been extensive discussed in academia as well as in practice, and many suggestions for improving supply chain performance have been proposed. This paper discusses the relationship between product and supply chain design, in order to design the supply chain to the specific product it must serve. Since product lifetime is steadily decreasing and companies are forced to bring ever more new products to the market, at a constant faster pace, the time for establishing excellent supply chains is decreasing too, requiring that supply chain design is well-planned. Through a real-life case new perspectives on how to design the supply chain concurrently with product design is brought forward and reflected on.
