  • The adjective «Caesarean» is generally predicated of a number of textual variants (rather than a full text) attested by a group of medieval Greek manuscripts and some ancient versions. Some of these variants were already known by Origen, which explains the choice of the adjective «Caesarean»; but these are not the variants belonging to the text followed by Origen, the origin of which was around 200 AD and probably in Antioch, rather than Caesarea. The author attempts to explain the alternance between these two types of texts associated with Caesarea.
