Problemática del estudio de yacimientos superficiales del Paleolítico Inferior y Medio, en la provincia de Ávila

    La gran mayoría de los yacimientos pertenecientes al Paleolítico Inferior y Medio, en la Meseta Norte, proceden de depósitos al aire libre y carecen de una estratigrafía bien definida.

    A la hora de investigar la Prehistoria más antigua de zonas como la provincia de Ávila nos encontramos con una doble problemática: por un lado, las limitaciones que supone el estudio de este tipo de yacimientos por el nivel mínimo de información que presentan, y por otro, la exclusividad de este tipo de evidencias líticas fuera de contexto estratigráfico como única fuente de inferencias.

    Sin embargo, los yacimientos en superficie pertenecientes al Paleolítico Inferior y Medio presentan un alto potencial informativo respecto a las pautas de comportamiento de los grupos humanos y de la utilización que estos hacen del espacio. Es por ello que no podemos rechazar esta fuente de datos cuando apenas tenemos ninguna otra. Del mismo modo, una correcta aplicación metodológica validará el análisis de dichas industrias.

    The majority of Lower and Middle Paleolithic sites in the North plateau, come from open air sites and they lack stratums well established. At the moment of researching the most ancient Prehistory in zones like the province of Ávila, we will find a double problematic: In one hand, the limitation that supposes the study of this kind of sites because of the minimal level of information that we can take out. In the other hand, this lithic industry without context is the unique source of inferences. Nevertheless, the Lower and Middle Paleolithic superficial sites present a high potential of information with regard of the rules of behavior and the use of the space. This is the reason because we can`t reject this data sources when there aren�t any more. In the same way, a correct methodological application will validate the analysis of this industry.
