The Kebaran site of Ein Gev I is so far the only Israeli open air site of this period to produce faunal remains in quantity. Gazelle and fallow deer are abundant. Capra aegagrus, the supposed ancestor of the domestic goat, is present. Two birds, winter visitors, suggest occupancy of Ein Gev during the winter.
