    The study of the modalities of spouse's choice allows distinguishing the type of society. Indeed, the frequency of each type of marriage, homogamous or heterogamous, is an important indicator of marital behavior in a society.

    With the aim of estimating the behavior homogamy within the population of Fritissa, we investigated with 500 couples of this municipality in the year 2000.

    The study of homogamy has been made in relation to ethnicity (ethnic homogamy) and the level of education (educational homogamy).

    The results reveal a behavior homogamy very pronounced especially for the ethnic homogamy but this behavior is less intense within the population educated for this municipality.

    L�étude des modalités de choix de conjoint permet de distinguer le type de société. En effet, la fréquence de chaque type de mariage, homogame ou hétérogame, est un indicateur important du comportement matrimonial dans une société.

    Dans le but d�évaluer le comportement homogame au sein de la population de Fritissa, on a enquêté auprès de 500 couples de cette commune en l�an 2000.

    L�étude de l�homogamie a été faite par rapport à l�appartenance ethnique (homogamie ethnique) et par rapport au niveau d�éducation (homogamie éducationnelle).

    Les résultats révèlent un comportement homogame très prononcés surtout pour l�homogamie ethnique mais ce comportement est moins intense au sein de la population instruite de cette commune.
