    Los ejes transversales en el nuevo diseño curricular de la Educación Básica representan un factor de integración de las áreas de conocimiento y facilitan la comprensión reflexiva, crítica e integral de la realidad. La incorporación del eje transversal ambiente en la segunda etapa de Educación Básica tiene la finalidad de ayudar a conocer la dinámica del ambiente y su problemática, el fortalecimiento de los valores ambientales, éticos y estéticos y la participación organizada de la ciudadanía en la solución de los problemas socioambientales. Por ello, busca lograr una comprensión de los procesos históricos y ecológicos, así como el desarrollo de una sensibilidad ambiental. En ese sentido, el presente ensayo tiene como objetivo ofrecer un conjunto de actividades pertinentes a cada una de las dimensiones del Eje Transversal Ambiente a fin de desarrollar la conciencia ambiental de los actores involucrados en su realización. Cabe destacar que las actividades por sí solas no bastan si no se acompañan de una reflexión crítica sobre las acciones realizadas.

    The fundamental aspects in the new design of the Primary School curriculum represent an integration factor in the areas of knowledge that make reflexive, critical and a full comprehension of our rea ity easier. The incorporation of these aspects in the second stage of Primary Education a ms to help understand the dynamic of the environment and its problems, the strengthening of environmental, ethical and esthetical value and the organised participation of c tizens in the solution of social and environmental problems. For this reason, the incorporation of these aspects aims to achieve an understanding of the historical and ecological processes as well as the development of an environmental conscience.

    The objective of this essay is to offer a group of activit es related to each one of these fundamental aspects, with the goal of developing an environmental conscience of the people involved in its realisation. It is important to mention that the activities alone are not sufficient if they are not accompanied by a critical reflection on the actions undertaken.
