El presente artículo indaga por las formas de organización del Gobierno en las sociedades capitalistas contemporáneas y, en especial, por la relación que guardan dichas formas con los patrones de dominación imperantes en el mundo del trabajo.
En esa dirección, el texto reflexiona, en primer lugar, acerca de los vínculos existentes entre la producción fordista (con unidades productivas de gran formato y producción masiva estandarizada) y el Gobierno en los estados de bienestar, el cual se desenvolvería como rama ejecutiva autonomizada que se ocupa de proveer las condiciones para un consumo estable; y, de otra parte, se analizan los principales rasgos organizativos del toyotismo (desterritorialización productiva, división de los trabajadores en núcleo y periferia, etc.), para tratar de identificar los nexos entre las relaciones de fuerza que se derivan de allí y la actual faceta dual encarnada por el Gobierno: centralización autoritaria y gobernanza.

This article inquires about the organizational forms of goverment in the contemporary capitalist societies and, particulary, about their relation with the patterns of domination that rule the labour world. Therefore, the text, on the first hand, thinks about the fordist production (with massive production and big productive units) and his relationship with the goverment under the Welfare State.
In this case, the Goverment appears like an independent executive power which work is ensure conditions for a stable demand cycle in the economic market. And, on the second hand, the document analizes the most important characteristics of toyotism (extraterritorial production, division of workers in centre and periphery, etc.), with the purpose of finding the relation between the force correlations that toyotism produces and the current double roll of goverment as an authoritarian centre and as governance.
