Resumen de The South Australian wine industry, 1858-1876

George Bell

  • A survey of the South Australian wine industry during the period 1858–1876 is presented. While addressing the criticisms of Thudichum and Dupré, particularly their allegations that colonial wines were adulterated, domestic, intercolonial and overseas issues are covered. Highlighted are the economic and social effects on a largely Anglo‐Saxon community as it struggled to come to terms with a new agricultural pursuit and to develop a market for its wines.
