Resumen de Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius, 1899) biotipo B, primer registro para Venezuela utilizando RAPD s- PCR

Se reporta por primera vez en Venezuela la presencia del biotipo B de Bemisia tabaci en tomate, melón, pepino y auyama en dos importantes regiones hortícolas del país. La determinación se hizo a través del análisis molecular utilizando RAPD�s-PCR. En los cultivos melón y auyama se encontraron poblaciones de los dos biotipos B y no-B.

Bemisia tabaci B biotype is reported for the first time in Venezuela attacking tomato, melon, cucumber and pumpkin in two important vegetable producing regions. Determinations were based on PCR-RAPD analysis. In melon and pumpkin populations of B. tabaci biotype B and biotype non-B were found.
