A partir de la década de los ochenta, la literatura indígena mexicana, resurgió con gran vigor. Existía la necesidad de abandonar la periferia cultural en donde se encontraba y formar parte del escenario nacional de las letras. De esta manera, tomó y sigue obteniendo, mayor consideración y valoración crítica. La producción literaria de esta Nueva palabra, Yancuic Tlahtolli, da cuenta del mundo indígena, los avatares históricos que ha enfrentado y una cosmovisión que no deja de sorprendernos. Así encontramos excelentes dramaturgos, narradores y poetas que resguardan, a través de la palabra, su tradición, expresando además, su voz particular.

As of the Eighties, Mexican indigenous Literature, resurged with great vigor. The necessity existed to leave the cultural periphery in where it was and to comprise of the national scene of the letters. This way, it took and it continues obtaining, greater consideration and critical valuation. The literary production of this New word, Yancuic Tlahtolli, gives account of the indigenous world, the historical ups and downs that have faced and a world wiew that does not let surprise to us. Thus we found excellent dramatists, narrators and poets who protect, through the word, its tradition, expressing in addition, its particular voice.
