  The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896) es una de las novelas más populares de Herbert George Wells. Eso explica que haya sido llevada al cine en diferentes ocasiones, la primera de ellas en 1932, gracias a Erle C. Kenton. En el presente trabajo estudiaremos ambas obras, la novela y la película, con el fin de encontrar las huellas que dejó la sociedad victoriana en ellas, una sociedad que estaba dando sus últimos coletazos cuando Wells publicó su novela

The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896) is one of the most popular novels by Herbert George Wells. That explains it has been filmed several times, the first one in 1932 by Erle C. Kenton. In this paper we study both works, the novel and film, to find the traces left in them Victorian society, a society that was on its last throes when Wells published his novel
