    En este breve artículo pretendemos dar una visión general del contexto histórico en que se desenvolvió la Revolución Islámica de 1979, tanto en el ámbito externo (la Guerra Fría) como interno (la impensada caída del Shah2 Mohamed Reza Pahlevi),con el fin de ilustrar un fragmento importante de este suceso que marca un punto de inflexión en Oriente Medio y facilitar la mirada occidental sobre el mismo, el cual se prolonga, aún, hasta nuestros días mediante el gobierno del Velayat Al-Faqih.

    In this short article we want to give a general vision about the historical context where the Islamic Revolucion of 1979 happened, in both ambits, external (the Cold War) and internal (the unthought fall of the Shah), with the goal of explain an important fragment of this event, a remarkable point in the history of Middle East, and facilitate the western's view abaut it, a reality that prolongs until nowa days through the goverment of the Velayat Al- Faqih.
