Marketing for libraries has become an important topic in libraries in India. Philip Kotler is credited with creating the philosophy of marketing management. When we study the marketing process and marketing management, we find that many of the tasks in the process have already been advocated by Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of library science in India, in his book Five Laws of Library Science. This study examines how the five laws can be used in marketing LIS products and services.
