There has been a flurry of interest in patron-driven acquisitions in the library literature of late, but there has also been some suggestion that libraries are hesitant to incorporate patron-driven acquisitions into their collection development models. This article reviews the findings of the several case studies in the literature in the hopes that this will aid librarians who are still considering whether or not to implement a purchase on demand program for books and similar materials requested by patrons.
