The present paper exhibits various impacts of a mass transit system´s infrastructure (BRT) generates on public space surrounding the transport grid. The first relationship is the occupation of public space by the infrastructure of access to stations, where the ideal situation are level access, followed by access by subways and lately access by elevated structures. The second aspect to analyze is the link between access infrastructure to area service (for non-motorized modes of transport), and the extension of the BRT system, looking for give quality to the user. Finally, the implementation of transportation systems such as the BRT due to policies of sustainable mobility, contributing to ever-improving environmental conditions that are reflected in the quality of urban environment near to transport network. The criteria considered must be part of the main ideas in urban planning even the principal component is the growing or extension of mass transit networks, as is the case with several Colombian capital cities in this decade.
