Resumen de Some remarks on sustainability and its influence on Logistics

Jacek Szoltysek

  • Sustainable development is a well-recognized idea, not because of its real values generally accepted worldwide by people, but because of trends, set up mainly by politicians or journalists. Being ¿not green enough¿ makes enterprises¿ chances to win competition smaller and their public relations position weaker. This also exposes the enterprises to attacks form environmental fanatics or environmental terrorists. Environmental issues in enterprises should not be associated with any vogue or trend, but they have to be strictly connected with core business processes and have to be well calculated. There is a special place for reverse and green logistics in this area. Companies who really care about customers, quality and product design, and who want to reduce costs, are beginning to explore what can be done to satisfy their customers while minimizing the internal impact. They are also finding ways to get valuable information about the product returned back to where it can do the most good ¿ back to the product design.
