El territorio es uno de los elementos que mejor define nuestra identidad.
En este sentido, uno de los principales objetivos del presente trabajo sobre el Campo de Toro consiste en distinguir entre la idea medieval de territorio frente al principio contemporáneo de territorialidad.
El proceso conocido bajo el nombre de «repoblación� servirá para analizar las distintas pautas de integración del espacio aducido en el marco del reino de León, y también para enfatizar los factores de dicha integración en la que los poderosos, e incluso muchas instituciones como los monasterios, desempeñaron un papel relevante en un movimiento de gran amplitud llamado a dejar una fuerte impronta en el territorio meseteño.

The territory is what defines best our identity. In this respect, one of the objectives of this study on the Campo de Toro in the Middle Ages is to distinguish the medieval concept of territory from our contemporary principle of territoriality.
The process known under the name of «repoblación» will give us the opportunity to follow the different steps of integration of the space examined within the kingdom of Leon and to highlight the factors of this integration in which not only powerful people but also some institutions such as monasteries played a basic role in a highly impacting movement due to leave deep marks in the territory
